 The system is intended to evaluate the core sample permeability alternation upon the contact with fluids and drilling fluids injected into reservoir. 

 Core holder of the unit makes it possible to pump liquid through core samples both directly and in the reversed directions, and along the core butt to form a crust, designing solid matter mode of deposition on the hole wall. 

 The unit provides for possible connection of several ports of differential pressure measurement and electrical resistance measurement with the use of specific points.

Drilling fluids are placed in special containers at reservoir pressure and temperature. The containers guarantee constant mixing of drilling fluids to prevent sagging. 

 Pore liquid filtration can be carried out both directly and in the reversed direction.

 Optionally, all the unit parts in contact with fluids can be produced of acid-proof nickel-chromium alloys (HASTELLOY® C-276) to study acid flows and other aggressive liquids injected into layer.

The PIK-OFP-FD enables one to determine the following parameters of a core :
  • liquid permeability 
  • study of the influence of finely-divided particles
  • layer response to acids and alkalies (in acid-proof design) 
  • estimation of inhibitory acid treatment (in acid-proof design).
